Adam Mason works in a special place. Mulderbosch is really the home of some of the Cape’s most distinctive wines. The clever packaging, emulating that of a fine cigar on some of the wines, the outrageously nostalgic and emotional Faithful Hound, the superb Chenin Blancs and a Pizza Oven in the tasting room. Can it get better? Oh yes it can, the view! The richly styled Mulderbosch Sauvignon Blanc 2012 is made in the absence of oxygen to capture as much of the essence of the grape and give a fingerprint of the 2012. A beautiful pale gold straw colour with aromas of citrus-zip fruit and ripe melon which go through into the flavours with a touch of flint. It’s crisp and fresh and goes on forever in the aftertaste.
