FAITHFUL HOUND

Despite the poignant raison d’être for this wine, the Mulderbosch Faithful Hound celebrates the virtues of Bordeaux’s great tradition of blending by being one of the first 5 varietal blends in the Cape.

Chardonnay Barrel Fermented

One of the great grapes of the world. So versatile, it produces styles ranging from austere, mineral and limey right through to rich, tropical and buttery.

CHARDONNAY

One of the great grapes of the world. So versatile, it produces styles ranging from austere, mineral and limey right through to rich, tropical and buttery. And don’t forget the Champagne!

Chenin Blanc

The Cape’s signature variety. We have the largest planting of this variety in the world, and have been cultivating it since the late 1600′s. Chenin Blanc possesses great natural acidity and a succulence on the palate that makes some of the tastiest wines in the world.

Sauvignon Blanc

Since its inception in 1992, Mulderbosch Sauvignon blanc has consistently been held in the highest esteem by wine plaudits the world over. Having made a name for itself at the vanguard of South Africa’s exploration of this grape, its subsequent longevity, finesse and varietal expression have cemented it as a benchmark for New World Sauvignon blanc.

Cabernet Sauvignon Rose

First released in 1999, Mulderbosch Rosé was one of the very first of its kind from South Africa. When most Rosés where a byproduct of red wine fermentation, Mulderbosch launched a varietal Cabernet Sauvignon Rosé from specially farmed vineyards specifically to produce Rosé fruit.

Noble Late Harvest

This aromatic variety took the world by storm in the early 1990′s. It’s instantly recognizable aroma profile of cut grass and gooseberries helps consumers identify what is in the glass.

Welcome to Mulderbosch

Since its founding in 1989, Mulderbosch Vineyards has widely been accepted as one of South Africa’s foremost wine producers. In 2011 Mulderbosch was bought by California-based investment company Terroir Capital with well known wine investor Charles Banks at the helm, who had long desired to invest in the Cape Winelands.

Although wine guide author John Platter famously referred to the Mulderbosch Sauvignon Blanc as ”South Africa’s most celebrated Sauvignon”, the entire Mulderbosch portfolio has consistently represented high quality wines of distinction for which it has gained an enviable track record. Offerings include our Faithful Hound Bordeaux-style blend; a varietal Cabernet Sauvignon Rosé; a Barrel Fermented and lightly wooded style of Chardonnay; a Chenin Blanc sourced from predominantly old bush vines and a deliciously decadent Noble Late Harvest made from Sauvignon Blanc.
